Lasting Friendships
When you have big dreams and aspirations you do what's needed to make your life better, more enjoyable and make those dreams come true. Some people have dreams but never get so far that they even make a plan to start and execute them. You can't let them keep you down or hold you back. We've all learned early in life that if you want something you have to go after it, nobody is handing it to you. If you want to make a change, you're the only one who can do it for you. Being self employed, on your own schedule and time, you have a different lifestyle than others. You even see things a bit differently. Well, very differently!
We are so lucky to have the friendships we form with our peers when we're self employed. If we're really lucky we keep them for a very long time. It seems these are the friendships that last the longest in some cases. No matter how good some friends are and how close you've been or what awful things you may have been through together, sometimes they just don't last once you leave the workplace, become independent or start your own business. For some reason, it sometimes seems like you fall off of the planet when you do start a business on your own. I don't know what the reason is, maybe it's that they don't want to be reminded of the fact that you're doing it, even though ANYONE can, but they're still just not ready? Could it be that they get tired of the positive and happy way you have about you because you make your own way? Could it be that they feel they want to do something too, but don't even know where to start? Keep your circle tight and with those who share your passion and goals. They are the one's who will understand you and be there for you when you need it.
