Why I Love Being A Parent

Parenthood is the most rewarding job on the planet! It's also the hardest.
There are so many things I love about being a parent, and more recently, a grandparent.
There's no greater joy than seeing those faces light up when you walk in the room, or when you teach them something new and exciting. Taking them to special new places. Giving them fun surprises and having family Christmas mornings! Seeing all of the milestones and special moments growing up. All of the school awards and sporting events. Graduations and marriages, friends coming and going, grandchildren coming along. All of the times to support them, lift them up and give advice (when asked). It is the best job!
Of course, there are hard times too. Compared to all of the good though, they're minimal. Thank goodness!
Take every possible moment you can with them! Time just flies by so quickly, we miss a lot if we don't pay close attention. We joke about it but it's so true, one day in diapers, the next graduating!
Then soon, one of the best things happens...once you've done your job as the best parent on the planet, they'll grow into an adult and be a great new friend to you, and you'll get to know them again on a whole new level. ~pm
