There are a few very important things to look for when starting a business on your own.
1. Research, research, research. Take the time to research the company, make sure they've been
around a long time and have a good reputation.
2. Ask others; find people within the company that have had success and trust the opportunity.
3. Watch out for the one's asking you to invest a large amount of money in a startup. There is
an investment with any business you start, it doesn't need to be thousands of dollars!
4. Be sure there is training and support in place for you, throughout your career with them, not
just at the beginning. A team is a team for the long haul!
5. Keep very close contact with your mentor or training partner. Especially at the start, be sure
you keep communication open and ASK when you need help. That's what they're here for.
Most important, don't get discouraged! The ones who stick with it day after day and stay plugged in to the team and their peers are the ones who succeed, even if it takes a while. There are good and bad days with everything in life so don't let the bad one's take your excitement and drive away, just get back up and keep on moving forward.
Don't quit. Your success could be right around the corner, but you'll never know if you don't keep trying. ~pm
